¿DO YOU WANT TO PRESENT YOUR PLAY AT THE CUTURAL CENTER OF SPAIN?
has launched an open call to all directors, playwrights, actors and designers from Miami to participate in the first season of (Microtheater for Money Miami).
Anyone who is interested should send 10 to 15 minutes long proposals no later than February 20 2012. The works will be evaluated to determine the 9 plays that will be presented from March 22 to April 22 in the headquarters of Centro Cultural Español of Miami. The subject will be “.
Only theater plays with a beginning, a dramatic plot and an ending will be considered for evaluation. Performances, short scenes or works in progress won’t be accepted.
The board composed by the producer Jorge Monje, the director Miguel Alcantud, and the playwright and director Yoshvani Medina will select the 9 plays that will be part of these presentations.
The plays will be performed 6 times every night in continued sessions from Thursday to Saturday from 8 pm to 11 pm, and Sundays from 6 pm to 9 pm. The ticket prices will be $5 general public and $4 for CCEM members.
If your proposal is accepted, one of the 9 theatrical spaces (containers) will become a theater company that should provide not only the play but the director, actors and staging. 70% of the admissions’ profits will be for the company.
This theatrical action was of a great success in Spain. It has created such an expectation in the cultural life of Madrid that immediately caught the interest of the media. We know, without a doubt, it will be something to talk about in the City of Miami.
